“Elbows on the Table” and Other Sure Signs of Talent Acquisition Maturity

Talent Research Analyst Robin Erickson has spent a good portion of her career analyzing what the rest of us in Talent Acquisition do every day.  And since we do so much work with our PeopleResults clients in the talent space, I’m a fan of Robin’s research and was fortunate to have grabbed some time for a podcast interview with her recently.  We were both at a conference where she was explaining the latest findings of the High Impact Talent Acquisition research from Bersin, summarized here.

My favorite quote from our conversation?  “Forget about TA having a seat at the table, it’s elbows on the table!”  Love it!

I also learned a lot about Robin’s extremely interesting background, like growing up in the Middle East as the child of medical missionaries, and her multiple advanced degrees including a PhD, and two master’s degrees in Theological Studies and Communications.  She cut her teeth at McKinsey, then EY and finally Deloitte where she was invited to join the Bersin team when they were acquired in 2013.

There are so many layers to Robin’s qualifications and curiosity, it’s no wonder she’s paving the way for both corporate and consulting practitioners to create smarter talent solutions.

Please enjoy my talk with Robin and thanks for listening to Big Fish in the Talent Pool on iTunes or Soundcloud!.  And when you do, please remember to rate and review our content – I love the feedback, and it will help other talent professionals find us.
